I usually use the FastStone one for single shot changes or to get a bunch of processed images back to Date Taken, and use JPGTime for more bulky or more tricky changes. So fixing time zone muddles is easy, correcting slow/fast camera clocks also easy by changing the seconds/minutes or whatever the error is.įastStone Viewer also has a more limited ability to change times. If selecting a folder or a bunch of files it alters all by offsetting by the hours minutes etc you set above. I just want a simple GUI that does the job.įor timezone and clock setting stuffups I always go to jpgtime from for Windows.ĭespite its name it can alter the various timestamps in any file. Metadata++ seems maybe based on exiftool but is a bit quirky and unpredictable (in my inexperienced hands). It would seem exiftool is the go to program as a metadata editor but it is not GUI.and all I need to do is one simple timezone offset, not learn code. I dont need to change any other metadata fields so it doesn't have to be a fancy editor, just perform one simple function for a batch of files preferably more than one folder at a time. It shouldn't require some whole complex database or cataloging program to be installed.I believe Lightroom *might* be able to change exif like data or maybe imatch can. It should not just correct the date for the program that does the editing eg Bridge "change capture date" only works within Bridge, it doesn't change the actual metadata eg when viewed in windows It should update the "properties" when viewed in windows for "Date Taken" and in Adobe bridge for "Date Time Original", IOW just as if these programs were accessing the actual metadata from the camera which has now been updated and corrected It should write to the equivalent of the exif data directly to, embedded in, the raw file itself where it is possible to do so and if not then to the corresponding sidecar file. If for example adding 10 hours advances to the next day, it automatically changes the date to the next day). I want a simple GUI based metadata editor that allows adding or subtracting the number of hours offset and that automatically also corrects for date. I thought it would be dead simple to 'fix' but so far I cannot find a solution. These are mainly raw files either Cr2 or ARW. Yep, I have hundreds of overseas taken pics that are between 10 and 11 hours incorrectly time stamped.
